Lake Tahoe is generally divided into two areas - North Shore and South Shore.  No matter what shore you find yourself on, there’s lots to do!

Tips and Recommendations in the Incline Village Vicinity

from Keith and Connie (Lindsay’s parents)

Beautiful restaurant with spectacular views of the Lake.  This is the Hyatt’s premier restaurant across the street on the Lake at the wedding site.  Lunch and dinner, serving upscale California cuisine.  Pricey.  Big bar with bar menu as well, also with Lake views.

Casual dining within the Hyatt for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (Sierra Cafe) and lunch and dinner (Cuttthroat’s) for sports bar/casual fare.

Just north of the Hyatt up the slope about 1-2 miles with filtered Lake views.  Nice big bar and restaurant open daily at 4:30 pm for bar and bar food and 5:00 pm for dinner.  American, Seafood, Steakhouse.  Very good.

Across the street from the Hyatt in a small mall.  Casual comfort food with great big signature salads.  One of our favorite casual places to eat.  Open for lunch and dinner.

Small, elegant Lake Tahoe Log Cabin few miles west of Incline just across the state line into California.  Upscale, intimate (small) restaurant with excellent food/menu and personal service.  Creative American fare.  Fine dining.  We have always enjoyed it.

On main Incline Village highway just west of Bite American Tapas and Fredrick’ Fusion Bistro.  Small, upscale restaurant and bar serving California cuisine.  Have eaten there once and enjoyed it.  Seating was on the close side.

Across the street from Hyatt in same small mall behind Austin’s.  A little harder to find in back.   Fine dining French restaurant serves A La Carte and Prix-Fix menu.  Can be expensive, but enjoyable.  Dinner only.

Adjacent to Bite American Tapas on main Incline Village highway. American bistro with an Asian twist.  Has a variety of sushi and sashimi preparations.  Fine dining and imaginative. Small, intimate restaurant. Dinner 5:00-9:30 pm.

On the main highway in Incline Village within 2 miles of Hyatt.  It’s a small casual but modern restaurant and bar.  We recently tried it for the first time and loved it.  Serves multiple small plates to share (tapas) in a very creative and flavorful fashion using “fresh local ingredients.”  Would highly recommend for small to large appetites.  Fine dining but not too expensive depending on the amount you might order.  Large wine/bar menu.

There are many casual and other restaurants available in the area.  Tomaato’s for pizza and pasta (and they deliver).  Hacienda De La Sierra Mexican Restaurant is nearby and is a large Mexican restaurant good for families and groups.  T’s Mesquite Rotisserie is a small, very casual restaurant/take-out frequented by locals for barbecue with a Mexican flair (owned by our Hyatt wedding coordinator’s husband).

If you want to travel further, we would highly recommend Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge on the west side of the Lake 2 miles south of Tahoe City.  It has a great outdoors deck for both casual and upscale dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a fantastic view of the Lake.

North Shore is quieter with less gambling.  For those interested in the typical grand casinos with gambling and entertainment, South Shore is the place to be but perhaps 45 minutes away.  Much more crowded and bustling.  Of course, you can always tap into those cheap buffets.

Truckee, about a half hour away, has many other wonderful dining options.
